Welcome August or Did We Even Have a Summer?

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like we haven’t had much of a summer? I know it’s been hot quite a few days. There have been heat advisories, but it has rained a lot this summer. I am so grateful I don’t live in a state where there is extreme humidity. Give me my dry/arid climate.

The temps are cooling down somewhat, here, in this mighty state of Colorado. Supposed to be in the low to upper 80’s this week. I can handle that. Monsoons should be starting soon too, which will cool things down a lot. It actually feels like maybe, just maybe, Autumn will come early. (Now watch it turn into an Indian Summer).

School is getting ready to open again for the 2025 – 2026 school year. I think it is interesting that babies born during Covid are starting kindergarten this year. I am going to homeschool the grandson this school year using Horizons preschool for 3’s curriculum. We will be finishing up Week One today. So far he seems to like it. We keep school sessions short – usually, no longer than 30 minutes at a time. This weekend he will do his science and take a Nature Walk with Papa.

This month – I am playing along with Clue – A Murder Mystery Scrapbook Layout Game over on Gingers Corner Facebook Page.

Today – I rolled the dice and got Ms. Peacock with the rope in the library.

Then I had to roll the dice again to get my Burden of Proof. I got a 4 under Ms. Peacock, which was blue ribbon/string/twine. I rolled a 1 – under rope and got Easter Page and under library – I rolled a 3 and have to use torn paper.

Here is my layout with blue ribbon, Easter page, and torn paper. I like how it turned out. This will be fun.

Zac had fun hunting for his plastic filled eggs on Easter 2025. Using real eggs was way too expensive.
