Scrapbooking and Card Making

I watched a video on CardMaker magazines Facebook page the other day and it inspired to make a few cards.

I needed a birthday card in a few days so I tried to make a few “manly” cards using the explosion insert card. It’s for a fitness trainer so I’m leaning towards the second one to give to him. I think the first one turned out too “girly” – especially the inside. I don’t know. What do you think?

They were super fun and easy to make. Here is the video for the directions on how to make the insert.

The first card front I used random papers from a 6.5″ paper pad from KaiserCraft called Save the Date and a strip of Silver Glitter Tape from Close to My Heart.

The second card I used random scraps of paper and the Inspiration Flourishes Stamp Set from Close to My Heart – stamped with the Chocolate Ink Pad and a wee bit of silver glitter tape for an accent.

These are the two inserts. The first one I used random stamps that I probably got from Michaels (maybe?) I like the Smile and the Happy Faces and the Hearts. It made me feel happy. I used Close to My Heart stamping pads – Lagoon, Olive and Smoothie.

The second insert I used the Life is Good Stamp Set? from Close to My Heart. I think that is the name of it. I used Close to My Heart stamping pads Olive, Chocolate and Lagoon.

It’s so cool – when you unfold the card – the insert pops right open. I like it because the card lays flat when you close it.  One of these days I will get good at making video tutorials. I’m working on it.
