Remember that old Sunday School song we used to sing? Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before… Everyday with Jesus, I love Him more and more. Jesus saves and keeps me and He’s the one I’m waiting for. Everyday with Jesus is sweeter than the day before.”

What a good song to be brought to my mind today. This world, in the past couple of weeks has gone absolutely crazy sauce. The forces of good and evil are warring together stronger than ever… and you can see it in everyday life, at church, at the grocery store, driving on the road, and in the government… It’s enough to almost make me sit in the corner and rub my fingers over my lips, going blllbllllbllllblllb….

My husband got furloughed today from his government job… Come on government, he’s only got a few more years til retirement. Couldn’t you just wait? But no…. All that goes through my head right now is – But what if this goes beyond two weeks and he doesn’t get paid? What if we cant pay the house payment and we get foreclosed on again? What if we can’t pay water, electric or gas? Is Christmas going to be slim pickens? Is traveling to AZ for Thanksgiving – out of the question?

Oh the worry, anxiety and doubt that has crept up on me today. But God….

He tells me – Cast your cares, your worries, your anxieties on Me. I have been with you during difficult times. I am with you in your everydays, you just don’t notice it as much. Im still here. Same as always, yesterday, today and forever.

And I cry – because Im scared.

We never really arrive at the destination of Perfect Peace or Ongoing Tranquility. Pressing on is daily. I must trust and believe Him that He is going to take care of us – no matter what… through the Everydays… rich or poor, sickness and health, good times and bad… Lets go on this Everyday With Jesus together.
