Editing Process and a Video

Writing a blog every day is just too much. I run out of things to write about. IF I can get a blog written twice I week, I am doing good.

Making videos is easier if I don’t try to do it all in one day. If I can film one day and get my clips, then edit and post the next day, its a lot easier. The editing is harder than it looks. This cardmaking video I edited and posted today on YouTube was a lot harder than I thought it was gonna be. I have a new IPhone 14 ProMax, but my old desktop was not being compatible it. Whenever, I tried to edit a movie clip, the clip looked all yellow and whitewashed – like I was filming with the sun overhead.

So here’s the editing process I had to go through

1. Ask daughter to update my Mac Desktop… wait an hour or so for that to finish.

2. Update IMovie – which is my favorite film editing software. Wait for another hour or so.

3. Yea. iMovie is updated. Plug phone in to download videos. Wait again.

4. Upload the clips I want to use into my IMovie project. Takes forever.

5 Yea! The clips are normal. Updating IMovie and my desktop worked. Now to get all the clips in the right order.

6. Go through each clip one by one, since when I filmed the dogs kept barking and there were a lot of distractions. I wound up with about 6 clips. Select what clips need to be split and deleted. Decide what clips need to be fast forwarded. Takes another hour or so.

7. Once all the clips are edited then decide on titles, transitions and audio. Make sure that grandson is not climbing into the dog crates.

8. Review the video and make sure everything is good to go. Then figure out to use You Tube all over again…since they have made many changes. That took about 45 minutes.

9. Download video to YouTube. It was easier than I thought and it seemed to download a lot faster. That was a bonus.

10. Hope someone watches the video and likes, comments and/or subscribes to help me reach my goal of 5,000 hours watched or 1,000 subscribers.

So. About 6 hours to edit and post a video.

Random thought – If I won the National Lottery, which is now over 1.5 billion dollars. I would hire myself someone to edit videos for me. Wouldn’t that be nice.

Here is the video I made using the retired Stampin Up stamp set Monster Munchies. I love the batty owl in this stamp.
