Most of you know that due to circumstances in my life, I was no longer able to stay with Close to My Heart. (Yep, I forgot my deadline! I had $30 left to order and the deadline slipped right by me.) So, now I am a trying my hand at being a Stampin Up Demonstrator.
And I’m excited! There are a lot of things about Close to My Heart that I really like but this year? Stampin Up is rockin it!!!!
I have already welcomed one new demonstrator to the Positive Journeys Team! Dennise Robinson you are awesome! I am excited to begin this new leg into my business. Stay tuned for the Launching of Positive Journeys – Fitness, Healthy Living and Creative Therapy sometime in November.
Anyways, coming up is my first demonstrators meeting. The large group of demonstrators meet at IHOP on the first Wednesday of the month. I wanted to try doing the card challenge this month – so following the card sketch – and using only current Stampin Up products – this is what I came up with.
This is the first card I came up with – but I didn’t really like how it turned out
This is my second card and the one I will use for the challenge. I like the pop of blue.
So I used the In Color cardstock paper pack, the Coffee Café Paper, and the Coffee Café Stamp Set. I used Basic Black, Soft Suede, and Old Olive ink pads, my Stampin Up trimmer and snips and Tombow glue.
I cut my card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2′ and scored in the middle at 4 1/4″-
I used two pieces of designer paper cut at 2 1/2″ X 4 1/8″ inch for the background pieces and 1 strip 1/4″ by 4 1/8″ to separate the two pieces
The cardstock strips I cut were 1″ x 5″ and the smaller strip was 1 1/2″ X 4 1/4″ – the designer paper strips was cut about 1/8th of an inch smaller
The rectangle piece of cardstock in the middle was cut at 2 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ and the white cardstock was cut about an 1/8″ smaller. I used the teeny tiny heart stamp from the Coffee Café stamp set using Soft Suede to stamp a background on the white cardstock.
I stamped the coffee cup and lid using Soft Suede on White cardstock and the coffee sleeve I stamped on designer paper. I fussy cut everything out and popped it up with dimensionals. I stamped the sentitment – Life Happens, Coffee Helps on the sleeve.
Here is the card I made using strips of paper scraps. I don’t like having a lot of paper scraps so I try to use them up. Well at least that’s my intention from now on.
NOTE: I’m going to try to figure out how to post a video tutorial – but I am having technical difficulties.
