December 1st – the first day when the Christmas season officially starts here in this household. Up til now it has been the Holiday season but December 1st brings the beginning of the Christmas season.

We kick off the Christmas season on the first with my middle child’s birthday and prepping to put up the tree. We just moved into a new house so we still have quite a few boxes sitting around… but sometime between now and Sunday we will make room to get the tree put up.

There is just something about putting the tree up that makes me feel so warm and cozy and peaceful. Watching the lights twinkle and the Christmas ornaments sparkle gives me a contented feeling that once again all is right with the world. Even though there is so much brokenness and loneliness in the world right now – for one quick month – there is Peace on Earth – Goodwill to Men… and I hope and pray that others can find that contentment too.

I think I’m going to make making Glitter Ornaments a new tradition. I have a lot of fun making them. Next year – I’ll get brave and try to Chalk on them or cut out vinyl and personalize them. This year, I am using them to decorate my booth at Willowstone. Small ornaments will be $1.00 and the bigger ornaments will be $2.00.
