And just like that New Years Day and 2024 has begun. Worldwide, this year began with a 7.6 earthquake and tsunamis in Japan. It’s also an election year. So many ways this year might go. That is why I have chosen my word of the year to be CODDIWOMPLE.

CODDIWOMPLE means to “travel in a purposeful manner towards a vague destination – to keep moving forward even when you’re not quite sure where your are going” I have been CODDIWOMPLING my way through life, pretty much since I began high school. Everything I have done in my life has been for a purpose. Im just not sure what that purpose is. (I mean eventually to get to heaven and see Jesus is my ultimate purpose)… but what am I purposely achieving here on earth? That is the conundrum.

I guess a word that could be similar to CODDIWOMPLE is pilgrimage. (You know like Pilgrims Progress) – So this year I would like to share my journeys of how I’m coddiwompling through the year.

I can CODDIWOMPLE in my crafting, my spiritual growth, my nutrition, fitness and health, my business, becoming a crafty content creator, making connections with other people, pursuing happiness, declutterring and organizing my house, finishing projects, sticking to it and just being Me.

Sounds like my 12 commandments of Debbie (read Gretchen Rubins book – she is the one who designed this concept).

Like the song says… I don’t know about tomorrow. I just CODDIWOMPLE from day to day. I don’t borrow from its sunshine for its skies may turn to gray. I don’t worry over the future for I know what Jesus said and today, I’ll coddiwomple beside him for HE knows what lies ahead.

So this year I want to be purposeful in carrying out the 12 commandments of Debbie. I will CODDIWOMPLE, hopefully, with purpose within those areas and we shall see where life will lead at the beginning of 2025.
